Dear Paterson Families,
We had a terrific week here at Paterson! A major highlight was coming together for our very first Town Hall Meeting, where our preschool through 4th-grade students gathered as a whole school community. During the meeting, we reviewed our school expectations with a strong focus on active listening, our core theme for the week. Daily morning announcements reinforced these habits with practical tips and our students did a wonderful job putting them into practice. Throughout the day, our students put active listening into practice during morning meetings, partner work, and classroom activities. We are so proud of the effort and enthusiasm they showed!
We are excited to invite parents and students to our Paterson Open House on September 22! This is a wonderful opportunity to visit the school, meet our dedicated team, and see all the great work students are doing. Our Open House schedule will include:

6pm - Welcome Presentation by Dr. Correia. This will take place in the gymnasium and all parents are invited to attend

6:15-7:15pm - Parents/guardians and students will have an opportunity to visit classrooms, special areas, and see our amazing school

Proud Moments:
- Students are showing a great deal of independence in their classrooms. They are working hard in all academic content areas and collaborating well with their peers. By practicing active listening, students are able to listen more carefully to the ideas of their classmates and teachers, allowing them to build upon and extend one another's thinking
- It has been wonderful to see our students actively working to make lunch and recess a positive experience for everyone! Throughout the day, children are demonstrating kindness and thoughtfulness by ensuring their peers feel included in conversations and games. We are so proud of how hard they are working to create a welcoming community. Please take a moment to thank your children for being such caring classmates and for including everyone whenever possible!

Early Office Pickups: If you need to pick up your child before the end of the school day, please arrive by 3:10pm. After 3:10pm our main office staff focuses entirely on preparing for and executing a safe and smooth afternoon dismissal process
