News From Dr. Correia

Dear Paterson Families,

What a fantastic week at Paterson! Our schoolwide focus was readiness, encouraging students to show they are prepared with their bodies, materials, and positive peer interactions. Throughout the day, students put this into practice by smoothly transitioning between their classrooms, lunch, recess, and specials. Next week, we’ll expand on readiness across different areas of the building. Outstanding job, Paterson students!

A huge thank you to our incredible and dedicated PTO Executive Board Members for hosting such a wonderful meeting with families on Tuesday! The group focus remains on supporting all students, staff, and families within the Paterson community and our PTO board does an amazing job of bringing everyone together. Next Friday, we look forward to welcoming families to Paterson for the PTO Fall Fest, a  fantastic opportunity to gather as a community and enjoy all things fall. We can't wait to see you there!

Proud Moments:
  • Our students did a fantastic job transitioning through the hallways to their expected destinations, including during lunchroom transitions. They showed a clear understanding of why it is important to enter a learning space focused and ready. By moving through the building mindfully, our students demonstrated their respect for the learning environment and proved that they are locked in and ready to learn.
  • We love pumpkins at Paterson and it has been great taking a sneak peek at the designs each homeroom created as part of our October Pumpkin Decorating Contest! Our students did a fantastic job selecting characters and bringing them to life on their pumpkins. I also want to give a special shout-out to the amazing John Wallace students who came down to support our elementary students with this fun project!
I hope all of our students, staff, and families have a wonderful and restful weekend. I encourage everyone to take time to recharge, enjoy quality time with loved ones, and embrace the beautiful fall season!

Warmly,

Dr. Correia
Principal

Hats for Hope

On Friday, October 23, our schools will come together for Hats for Hope, a district-wide fundraiser supporting pediatric cancer patients and their families across Connecticut. Students and staff are invited to make a donation ($1 or more) and wear their favorite hat to school as a fun and meaningful way to show support, spread hope, and remind those facing difficult health journeys that they are not alone. Each school will have its own QR code for donations, allowing every school to make an impact while coming together as one district. We hope students, staff, and families will join us in showing what our school community can do when we come together. Let’s fill our schools with hats, hope, and the strength of our Newington family!
