Dear Paterson Families,
As October comes to an end, we look forward to welcoming you to Paterson next week for our Fall Progress Conferences! These meetings are a wonderful opportunity to connect with your child’s teachers to discuss their transition into the school year, work habits, and classroom engagement. As a reminder, Progress Reports will be issued in December, allowing our staff extra time to thoroughly evaluate student growth against early-year standards. Conferences also provide families with an opportunity to share any thoughts or questions with us, as we remain committed to partnering with you throughout your child’s learning journey. If you haven't signed up yet, please reach out to your child's teacher to schedule a time.
I am also excited to share that we will be hosting a Veterans Day Breakfast and Car Appreciation Parade on November 11, at Paterson.
Our Veterans Day Breakfast will take place from 8:00–8:45am in the Paterson Cafeteria. This will be a special time for students to invite their Veterans to school for breakfast. Immediately following at 9:00am, we will hold our first annual Car Appreciation Parade! While more details will be shared next week, the parade will allow Veterans to ride along in the passenger seat as a family member drives through our parking lot and bus loop three times. Our entire school community will line the sidewalk to show our immense gratitude and appreciation for all that our Veterans have done for our country.
Earlier today, Mrs. Delaney shared a sign-up form for both the breakfast and parade to help us plan effectively. If you plan to attend, please complete Mrs. Delaney’s Google Form as soon as possible.
Proud Moments:
- I had a wonderful visit to Miss Shepherd’s first-grade classroom during their mathematics block this week. Our young mathematicians were hard at work learning how to represent 2-digit numbers in multiple ways. It was inspiring to watch them show numbers using different models and tools, and even more impressive to hear them explain how two completely different representations could represent the exact same number. Their growing confidence and mathematical vocabulary were on full display!
- The Paterson Library is buzzing with activity! Students are discovering great books and gathering in a vibrant space that fosters conversation, collaboration, and shared learning. A big thank you to Mrs. Dalton for creating an environment where both students and staff love to gather.
Enjoy the cooler fall temperatures this weekend. Have fun and be safe!
Warmly,
Dr. Correia
